Call for Papers: Joint SOSoRNet/SSMEnetUK Workshop on Enabling the Service-Oriented Business through Service-Oriented Infrastructure

This joint workshop aims to stimulate discussion of the broad context of service-orientation, whether applied to the technological in the form of software services, or the organisational in the form of service organisations, or other topics of relevance to this important field.
We are pleased to invite contributions to the above workshop in areas including, but not limited to, the following:
- Supporting organisational management and change through service-oriented software
- Changes to the software function because of service-orientation in either the business or the software technology
- Aligning business process and software support
- Studies in technology led service innovation
- Measuring the performance of service-oriented business
- Service oriented infrastructure in support of offshoring and outsourcing
- Service oriented architecture and SMEs
- Case studies illustrating the importance of alignment of business, people and technology in service design, delivery and innovation
Submissions should be in the form of an extended abstract (no more than 4 pages) to be received by 11pm GMT on 31st October 2008. The workshop chairs will review and prioritise submissions for acceptance on the basis of quality and relevance to the workshop theme. Notification of acceptance will be circulated by 7th November 2008.
An informal proceedings (copies of the accepted abstracts) will be produced for participants. Registration for the workshop will be free but delegates will need to make their own arrangements for travel and accommodation. Some limited financial support for attendance may be available for student authors giving a presentation. At least one author of each accepted abstract will be expected to attend and present their work.

About SOSoRNet
SOSorNet (http://sosornet.dcs.kcl.ac.uk ) is an EPSRC-funded network to bring together people working in the various communities associated with service-oriented software e.g. Grid, web services, application service provision etc. The aim is to promote the cross-fertilisation of ideas between these communities.
